Digital preservation of repository content is key at Oxford. We are aiming for long term storage and access for content. It was one of the reasons for selecting Fedora as the digital object management layer. The storage layer is underneath and services built on top. The research repository forms one part of the DAMS (Digital Asset Management System). There is no single repository as such - we're talking more about federated repositories containing a wide range of digital content. The DAMS architecture is designed with digital preservation as one of its major purposes.
